Ben Affleck as Batman: Batffleck Emerges for a First Look

1

BatmanBatman vs. Superman director Zack Snyder tweeted a first look at Ben Affleck as Batman on Tuesday, a day after teasing with another black-and-white photo of the Batmobile. Though he promised then to pull the veil off Bruce Wayne’s supercar today, the emergence of Affleck was a surprise.

First impressions: Though he’s a bit obscured, Affleck looks every bit the aging, world-weary Caped Crusader we were promised when the project was announced.

The suit itself departs from the militaristic/tactical armor that Christian Bale wore in Christopher Nolan’s Dark Knight trilogy; instead, Snyder returns to the natural pects-and-abs look that Tim Burton went with for Michael Keaton in ’89 (yet steers clear of the infamous “bat nipples” for which George Clooney still makes fun of himself).

As for the Batmobile itself, the closed canopy pod and swooping front end also looks more like Burton’s ’89 Batmobile hotrod than any of the other iterations.

It’s all well and good until an alien from Krypton starts punching on May 6, 2016. We’ll see how that goes.

Ram Man Of Steel Truck

dodge-ram-man-steel-xlOkay, okay — so Superman doesn’t need a whole lot of help getting around. But unless you’ve gained the power to fly, you probably still need some wheels. The Ram Man Of Steel Truck (TBA – unfortunately probably not coming to South Africa) should suffice. This one-of-a-kind Power Wagon features a Dark Ceramic Gray paint job with a high-gloss black roof, anodised red grille accents, forged aluminium, satin-black 17-inch off-road wheels, and a custom wrap inspired by Superman’s suit. Inside, you’ll find Pewter leather seats with custom mesh inserts based on the suit, and anodised red accents on the doors, steering column, radio, and seats. Oh, and Superman logos on the grille, tailgate, seats, and console. If you’re still interested, keep an eye out for an auction to come later this year.
